Decoden: The Strangely Relaxing Hobby

Saturday 26 June 2010 |

Today was my last day at college. I was kind of sad to leave, since it's been a big part of my life for a while and I met so many great people there. I actually cried a little while walking though the halls for the last time.
But that's not what this post is about!

I've always been fascinated by the world of deco. All the pretty and sparkly phones and handheld games consoles... *u* <3
So today, I grabbed my very boring phone, some glue, tweezers and some glittery bits and just deco'd my afternoon away. It was so relaxing, just sat there with my music on sticking on rhinestone after rhinestone.
After around 4 hours I got to a state of completion. This is the result:

 A very shiny phone.

I had some leftover rhinestones too, as well as a small fairy that I wanted to use on something. So I ended up spending another 2 hours making this:

Crap photo is crap but you get the basic idea.

Over the top of my pink DS Lite, the green didn't look very nice. So, I gave this case to my mom, who loves fairies and shiny things. She was very happy with the surprise! And it looks lovely on her white DS Lite.
I love decoden so much >w< It's so fun and relaxing. It's great to do on a hot day when you just don't want to do anything. My next project is a new case for my iPod. I want to try and make a picture of my current favourite Touhou character, Cirno, out of rhinestones of different sizes. Time to look for places that sell rhinestones online!

Question for readers! Do you like deco? Do you think it looks nice or just looks tacky? Comment!

Blogging from an iPad

Thursday 24 June 2010 |

I'm actually in the Apple store at the moment. Bet you thought I had an iPad! I've just seen an iPhone 4. I'm in love! That's all for now!!

A small update~

Wednesday 23 June 2010 |

I'm sorry I haven't been very active as of late, I've simply had nothing interesting to write about!
I've been so busy with college and stuff lately. Even now, I'm half preparing to leave for college while writing this post. I can't wait until I finish, which is right after I finish all of my outstanding assignments (It's not much, 5 short tasks but it's actually doing them that's the hard part!).

I'd really like to go on holiday this year, even if just inside England. I need to find a job before I think about doing that sort of stuff though. There is a cosplay holiday thing going on this year, but I won't have the money to go unless I get a job. Well, I have the money to go, just not the money to make 3 days worth of cosplay!

Speaking of cosplay, I plan to do a lot of it this summer. I'm not attending any of the summer conventions so I thought I'd host some meets and picnics this summer. I guess, to make this post a little more interesting, I'll post some of the cosplay I'm planning to do for this rest of this year.

Cirno - Summer Kimono Version

Cirno - Normal Version

Ponyo - Human Version

Tsukasa Hiiragi - Summer Uniform Version

Rin Kagamine - Cendrillon Version

Rin Kagamine  - Normal Version

So there's my cosplay line up. Quite an expensive lot, but somehow I'll do them all.
Time to head off to college now. I'll try and write something interesting next time!

Over and out! ;D

Earphones!

Monday 14 June 2010 |

Due to my recent discovery of being minorly allergic to plastic, I've been forced to indulge in some new earphones. I decided to have a look in Asda, since I was there food shopping anyway. I quickly found my perfect earphones. Comfortable, silicone JVC Gumys. They were on offer for 2 for £10, so I picked up a pair of funky green ones and a pair of white ones, with a special plan in mind for the white ones.

After looking though what bits I had left in my deco boxes, this is what was made out of those white earphones:

Those ponies are from some hairclips I bought that broke.
Recycling!

A close up of one of the earphones.

Cute, huh? I was going to deco them, with really really small rhinestones but I didn't have enough pink ones left! Time to order some more ^^;

That was basically all I wanted to update on this time. I did have an outfit post and a JapFashion post for you, but my mom formatted my camera and I can't find the graphics for the JapFashion post. Sooooo, you'll just have to wait.

I do have this, however, which I really really want!

I saw this walking past Peacocks the other day! I love it!!!
I think I remember seeing something like this in Popteen as well.
Or some other JapFashion Mag.

Anyway, that's all for today!

Over and out! ;D

Haircut desu!

Saturday 12 June 2010 |

That's right! I got my hair cut again! I decided to go with something short and sweet for the summer (try saying that 5 times fast!). Take a look!

My fan is covering a horrid spot on my chin.
*stressed* =w=

But yea, I've had tons of compliments on it. I'm planning to dye it dark purple when the time for re-dying it comes around <3 I had that colour last summer and everyone thought it was awesome.

I went to the doctors the other day, because for the past week or so I've had an infection in my left ear. I thought it was nothing at first but I started to describe another problem I was having. I like to wear plastic jewelry. Bead bracelets, chunky colourful bangles, the works. But everytime I wear them, I come up in a red and very itchy rash. It turns out that the two problems are linked. Just like any other normal person, I love listening to music. The easiest way for me to do that is through some plastic, in-ear headphones. Turns out, I'm allergic to plastic. The plastic earphones caused an allergic reaction which got infected. Solution? New headphones. I got some nice JVC gel coated ones. One in green and one in white. (The white ones I'm going to deco ^^)
Isn't plastic a weird thing to be allergic to? I nearly laughed when my doctor told me!

Question for you this time! What are you allergic to?
Also, did you laugh?

Over and out! ;D

I think it's about time I posted something...

...Don't you?

Last weekend was London MCM Expo! I had a fantastic time, despite only going for the Saturday. There I met up with my best friend Robbie, who brought his two friends PJ and Wesley, and I also had Dave with me too (who ran off chasing cosplayers with his big camera most of the day, but I didn't mind). So, some photos!

A few of us from the Touhou group.
(Left to right: Robbie as Lyrica Prismriver, Me as Remilia Scarlet, Reimu Hakurei, Youmu Konpaku and Wesley as Remilia Scarlet. I can't remember where I got the image from ><;)

My favourite photo of me, even though it is over exposed ^^;
I'm hugging my new Reimu and Miku plushies!!

Caramelldansen time! My hat was falling off and it was raining.
This one was taken by Dave

This is the Soundcase, which Robbie made.
Each of those circles are lights, which are really bright and work as a VU meter for the music.
The music comes out of two speakers on the inside of the suitcase. The whole thing can be plugged into any device with a headphone input on it. It's powered by a motorcycle battery.

A sneaky photo of me and Robbie taken by Wesley.
We were on the way to Trocadero in Piccadilly Circus to visit the arcade~

Yea, so we went and bought stuff, hung outside and got rained on, went to my friend Saffie's hotel room in the Ibis, then took the tube to Troc. I bought the two plushies, Reimu and Miku and two Touhou-based doujinshis. PJ brought me a Rin Kagamine petite nendoroid from a convention he went to where he lives (Him and Wesley are Dutch). I was a little moody when we got to Troc, because my feet were killing me (they were actually bleeding when I got home from my 4 inch Bodyline heels) but I still managed to have a go on the DDR machine and play against Robbie on Percussion Master (One of my favourite parts of the whole day!). And after it all, I said a sad goodbye to Robbie, PJ, Wesley, Saffie and her boyfriend Anton and headed back to Waterloo with Dave. ;w; I miss them all so much already.

Also, I wanted to ask. How many of you own an iPod Touch or iPhone? I own an iPod Touch 2g and was thinking of doing some app reviews on cute and fun apps! I came across quite a few today and am itching to tell someone about them!! Let me know by commenting~

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and, for those of us in school or college, a lovely half term!

Over and out! ;D
